Dave Ivan conducts statewide community & economic development programs for Michigan State University Extension. A frequent guest lecturer on community success strategies with state municipal leagues and other regional and national community conferences, Ivan has conducted research on community sustainability, including a 2004 study entitled “Can Small Towns Be Cool?” and a 2002 USDA Rural Development study entitled “Small Town Success Strategies.”
He served as the statewide coordinator for a Michigan initiative designed to create a community environment that supports entrepreneurship and business enterprise development that has received national recognition. His current research examines best practice community approaches in the New Economy.He has served as a member of the Michigan State University economic development, community development and land use area of expertise teams, and is currently a regional administrator supervising 225 Extension Educators in 17 Michigan counties.
Meeting Agenda Meetings take place at the Ramada Inn of Marquette, 412 W. Washington Street. Lunch will be served promptly at 12:00 Noon. with the speaker presentation beginning as soon as possible. Questions will be taken at the end of the presentation.
